It is known that  there is a direct link between the the health of our gastro-intestinal tract and our brain health. Research has shown that diseases such as dementia, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s can be identified as beginning in the digestive tract and then spreading to the brain over a period of up to 10 years. The research on this is added at the end of this article
Haritaki’s exalted status is reinforced by its connection to the Medicine Buddha, who is often depicted holding haritaki fruit6 or a flowering branch of the haritaki tree.7 This placement speaks volumes to the veneration of haritaki by Tibetan healers. To some, this correlation goes even deeper, seeing the very presence of haritaki as a reflection of the Buddha’s nature, as one doctor has written: “Myrobalan (haritaki)[…]underlines the nature of the Buddha of Healing.”8 Knowing this correlation, it is not surprising to learn that haritaki plays a central role in Tibetan medicine, and in fact, haritaki is called “the king of medicine.” As “the king,” it is present in almost all Tibetan herbal formulas!9 This certainly isn’t out of convenience, as haritaki does not grow in Tibet and needs to be imported.10
The modern medical systems suggest surgical treatment for the cure of the heart problems but on another hand, Ayurveda targets the deep root cause of the disease. The best cure for heart diseases is to adopt a holistic approach named Ayurveda the part of the great Indian heritage. This is not only based upon the ancient principle but many researchers worked and proofed that heart issues are reversible with the help of Ayurvedic treatment.

Haritaki consists of ingredients which are recognized to have healing properties including anticancer, antibacterial, antidiabetic and anti-oxidant properties. Haritaki is very nutritious containing essential vitamins, minerals, and proteins. It is a source of vitamin C, manganese, selenian, potassium, iron and copper. It also contains plant chemicals like – tannic acid, gallic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid and behenic acid.
Abhaya, pathya, prapathya, putana, amrita, jaya, avyatha, hemvati, vaystha, chetaki, siva, pranda, nandini, rohini and vijya all are synonyms of haritaki. Haritaki is astringent, sour, pungent, bitter and sweet in taste. It pacifies all three dosha, it is laghu, beneficial for eyes and induce purgation. The herb is used to cure polyuria, leprosy, ulcers, emesis, edema, gout and dysuria. It acts as carminative, beneficial for heart and used to cure all diseases associated with obesity.
A myriad of toxins can lead to calcification of the pineal gland, however, one of the main causes of calcification is the build up of heavy-metal residues in the body. Mercury is a particular offender in the pineal gland calcification process. Results of scientific studies demonstrate that Haritaki can greatly assist de-calcification of the pineal gland by supporting the liver in its consistent efforts to remove mercury from the body. Haritaki is also highly “homeostatic” due to being adaptogenic in nature. Endearing psycho-physical equilibrium, Haritaki is laced with many beneficial properties that aid brain health, sharpen the senses and increase cognitive functioning and emotional health. Humans are in possession of biological energies which meander throughout the body and mind. In Ayurvedic medicine, these biological energies which govern the health of our psychological and physical functioning are referred to as Doshas (a fundamental concept of the Ayurvedic tradition). There are Three Doshas: Vata, Pitta and Kapha which contain all five vital elements — Earth, Ether, Air, Water and Fire. Haritaki is said to powerfully unite all three Dosha energies, creating a synergistic ratio of all five vital elements. A balancing of the Dosha energies and elements therein provides access to the specific requirements of a individual persons blueprint of health and wellbeing. Haritaki consumption can assist multi-level homeostasis leading to an advanced internal state conducive to Third Eye Awakening.

Or perhaps these extraordinary actions could also be due to haritaki’s rasayana, or rejuvenative quality. This quality is very supportive to vata and the large intestine (there’s that seat of vata again). Its rejuvenation goes deeper—it penetrates all seven dhatus (tissue layers), providing delicious full-body strength and nourishment, and then goes on to support the proper function of the colon, lungs, liver, and spleen.17 And, as if that wasn’t enough, thanks to its effect in the deepest tissue layer, shukra dhatu (the reproductive tissue layer), it helps to enhance immunity.18
As I point out above, this herb has been credited with massive changes in brain function. These changes also result in an increase in mystical abilities. The results of these changes have been noticed to produce the following outcomes: Thousands of adults and children are expressing the ability to read blindfolded. I was recently at a 21-day meditation retreat in Thailand with 800 people attending. We were introduced to children who take the yogic super brain food on a regular basis. These children displayed remarkable spiritual powers. They were able to read through a blindfold quite comfortably, at a pace equal to an adult reading with their physical eyes. Given different books in different languages, they were able to spell out the words, even though they did not know their meaning. Blindfold vision expands to extraordinary levels. I had the opportunity to test and film some of the children who can read blindfold. This is what I saw.
Gastrointestinal agents: Based on an animal studies, Terminalia chebula may accelerate the healing of indomethacin-induced stomach ulceration in rats (45) and, at a dose of 100mg/kg daily for 15 days orally, increased the percentage of gastric emptying (compared with metoclopramide, a prokinetic drug) (46). Based on a study in rats with duodenal ulcers, a mixture of Ayurvedic medicines that included Terminalia chebula (with Glycyrrhiza glabra, Piper longum, and Shanka bhasma) may increase the activity of beta-glucuronidase activity in the Brunner’s glands (47).

Haritaki (Terminalia chebula) is considered to be most suitable herbs for balancing vata dosha. Supporting the body's natural cleansing process by helping in removal of any accumulated natural toxins in the gastrointestinal tract. As a rejuvenative, it strengthens and nourishes the tissues and supports the proper function of the colon, lungs, liver and spleen. Haritaki is traditionally used as a remedy for all vata-related imbalances. It maintains regular elimination, helps promote healthy body mass, and supports comfortable and complete digestion.

Haritaki is a large tree that grows throughout the deciduous forests of Southern Asia and Sri Lanka. According to folklore, the first haritaki tree sprouted after a drop of amrit, the eternal nectar, dropped from the heavens upon the earth (well of course “the divine fruit” would have such an ethereal creation!).3 Ayurveda uses the small green fruits of the haritaki tree, and harvesting these is no small feat. It requires a skilled tree climber to shimmy up the tall trunk, sack in hand, and hand-pick each fruit.4

The Organic Haritaki is sourced from the nut of the tree Terminalia chebula, that grows in India and Nepal.  The seed of the fruit from the tree is ground up and is used traditionally for cleansing of the internal gastro intestinal organs. Despite being called the King of all herbs by the ancient tradition it is only in the last 3-5 years have the remarkable effects on the brain been observed and researched. Hundreds of people consuming Haritaki have found that their 3rd eyes have awakened to the extent that they are able to read while blindfolded. It is recommended to take 3 capsules per day at the beginning level.
– Avoid all things fluoride: Tap water, cooking with tap water, fluoridated toothpaste, inorganic fruits and vegetables, showers with out filter, red meat, and any sodas and artificial food and drinks. I know how difficult it can be to stick to only organic fruit and vegetable but it is important to start where you are and begin to make those changes where it is possible.
Nithyananda reports that most people doing this evaluation, experience a huge difference in their understanding and ability to cognize deeper truths when taking Haritaki. The same applies for the IQ test. Most people report that they see an increase in their IQ scores when they reduce the junk food eating and include this yogic super brain food in their diet.
Along with increased energy flow, we see that the nutrients in the foods are more effectively distributed in the body. This results in a number of shifts as nutritional imbalances and the illnesses they create are resolved..,With optimal absorption of nutrients,  the body balance comes back into harmony. People who are below normal weight gain weight. People who are above normal weight reduce to their optimal health.

Increasing “Synchronicity.” Users report being able to think about a future event they want to have happen, and miraculously events appear as if by magic. With greater clarity of goals users have increasing laser-type focus on that which they wish to manifest, while having the wisdom to be positive contributors to humanity. Commonly reported events: Manifestation of money that defies logic and life circumstances, increased health and emotional well being, going from shyness to dynamic public speakers, a rapport with the world that suddenly expresses their wishes such as: unexpected airline upgrades to first class, finding the right business partnerships, manifesting the house of their dreams and the job they desire.
